Only Love Prevails.

I can’t bring them back again

Those moments I hold fast in memory

Dear ones dancing in my dreams

Still reaching out to me

When Spring has come and gone again

And brilliant Summer pales

And Fall sets sail in frosty winds

Only love prevails

No, I can’t change the flow of time

Though sometimes I’ve wished that I could

But my heart shall bind up all loose ends

And keep them mine for good

So let us recall some old songs

And sing them out around the fire

And hail once more our loved ones before

The hour that we retire

When Spring has come and gone again

And brilliant Summer pales

And Fall sets sail in frosty winds

Only love prevails

Ruth is a beautifully written and very deeply felt poem that speaks of the passage of time which feels like forever when we are young, but moves quickly when we are older. It is a very endearing reflection. Someone is very loved and dearly missed with each passing hour. I always believe loved ones that pass are standing next to us in a different realm and hear us talking to them and praying for them. They keep us company when we feel lonely and isolated. They are with us.

God bless you and your sorrow and keep you ever faithful and hopeful.🙏🏼

Derek you are correct. Also please never feel embarrassed for sobbing at your mother's funeral. I did the same at my mother's funerals.
