I am mourning our earth. Where are the rallies to change this? Where is the outrage? Media follows the ghastly weather but no mention that humans & their monied interests are the cause.
I share both your memories and your concern for the future. Awhile ago I wrote an essay on climate change and the need for nations to cede some of their sovereignty to deal with climate change on a global basis since it is a global threat.
It is but they are too busy fighting wars. It's outrageous. Then there are the MAGA Rebublicans, led by that a.h. Trump who completely deny global warming and climate change.
Sadly, the future generations will probably NOT know those predictable rhythms. Global warming and resultant climate change are real, yet millions cheer for the buffoon who bleats, "Drill, Baby, Drill!" How will we teach "The Snows of Kilimanjaro" when the snows are no longer there?
Thanks for this Allan. I left SoCal - L.A. sixteen years ago and the fire season was already bad there then. Now fire season is so many other places because of the climate change - global warming. It's heart breaking and I continue to hope that more people learn to understand this and join in the efforts to help save our planet.
Marc I agree that humans have a dimm future on this planet

Lenny, the words of that idiot and his allies echo in my ears.

I hope and pray.
Climate change is a thing. I enjoyed your trip down memory lane. I also remembered my childhood.
And I enjoyed my little journey down memory lane.
Nothing has ever been predictable for much longer than a few human lifespans. Fear not. The universe will self-correct.
Derek i havent heard from you in a while. I was getting worried. Are you okay?
