By the way, those other people may not have more callouses in their feet at all. Of course, we don't know. But what we do know is that people experience pain and even sharpness differently.

I've looked at life from both sides now

From win and lose and still somehow

It's life's illusions I recall

I really don't know life at all

It's life's illusions that I recall

I really don't know life

I really don't know life at all

There is an implication of this, that underlying the illusionary perception of reality, is a real and solid thing. An objective reality.

Imagine walking waist deep in muddy river, and you cannot see beneath the water. The ground feels squishy beneath you, and as you walk and there are more squishy sensations, until, suddenly, you encounter a sharp rock going into the middle of your foot!

That's how I feel often. Navigating life cautiously, because I really can't see what I am standing on, nor the path ahead of me. Some rocks are just too sharp to walk on, and it takes some degree of effort to avoid them. Other people seem to just have more callous in their feet. They tread wherever they want to.

As for the illusion, yes, it's all a big illusion until you encounter a sharp rock, or the limits of reality. Then you find the real edge underlying the illusion.

Yes, there is reality but we often see that reality differently and that is the main point. Who has the accurate view? We tend to see things differently. There was a great movie about this: 12 Angry Men with Henry Fonda. The jury struggled because each juror saw the case so differently and the "eye witness" did not have an accurate view.
