Adrian, remember when back to the days long ago when I was a classroom teacher, I used humor and levity in the classroom. To this day and I’m almost 82 years old there are a couple of students from the past who have kept in touch. It is really amazing. And one of the things they mentioned to me is that my classroom was fun. Of course they were seriousness, and there was learning as a teacher, and that was European history. There were very serious topics, but humor was frequently brought in, and it made the classroom for me and for them enjoyable.
Laughter and levity are major components of my classroom experience. Unfortunately, much of school has become a place where kids must remain silent, heads down, and work. I take teaching and learning seriously, but never at the expense of my students’ well-being. Laughter helps me make teaching and learning more enjoyable.
Yesterday after a day outside in the humid heat in Hudson Valley, I opened a bottle of seltzer to cool me off. Cool me off it did! It shpritzed all over me. I howled with laughter.
Go I see you that you liked my essay on oh to be a child again. Thank you for that. It’s important to nourish. The child. Still remains within us. It is that inner child. That helps us laugh. Yes, we’re adult. We’re all grown up some of us or oldlike me, but that child remains and it’s important to remember that it’s that inner child that keeps us entertained
I LOVE TO LAUGH! It's one of my traits that I value the most. Having a sense of humor seems like an essential ingredient to a fulfilling life. When I'm able to see the humor in things, the joy of living increases. I'm sometimes gripped by uncontrollable laughter, too. A jag starts, and it's hard to move myself out of it. I love every minute, even though sometimes people are unnerved by it. My laugh is full, hearty, and unabashed! And quite contagious at times. Your essay made me smile, the image of you not being able to stop in the lecture is delightful!

“The human race has only one really effective weapon and that is laughter.” – Mark Twain
That’s a great quote
It’s hard to imagine if everyone, leaders and all, are laughing

That sounds terrific to me
This is what I like about Kamala and Tim. They bring JOY. I find myself chuckling even when no one else is around.
That is exactly precisely what I as well. We are of one mind. Let’s hope they win the elections

That is hilarious. What great fun. Diane the world needs to laugh.

I meant to write Nan, not man
Man worked just fine, I thought you were answering from your hippie persona! xoxo
And man, it’s completely true. In fact, I’m laughing again as I am remembering it right now as I respond to you.
I get that, the laughter doesn't die. It's core to our being.
When we stop laughing in any relationship, it’s the beginning to the end. 🙏😊
And that is why I wrote this piece. All of us are sick and tired of the bad stuff. Let’s all laugh together
And that pleases me greatly
