Very interesting, Allan. My first wife had a very serious OCD that contributed to the disintegration of our marriage. I knew she had it but didn’t understand why she had it.
The pandemic flared some latent OCD tendencies in me. With the fear of getting Covid from strangers at the store or my students in the classroom, and possibly dying, my cleanliness idiosyncrasies turned into germ OCD. Unfortunately, my daughter has suffered the most.
5 years later, we are both working on managing our symptoms with exposure therapy. I still wash my hands quite a bit, but I feel like we are slowly making progress.

Curious, Allan: how so? And what are those alternate treatments that you prefer? And yes, enjoy the kind weather!
Marc, my mistake. I'm working on an essay about ADHD. I meant to say that OCD is hard on marriages and you know why
