Thank you, your thoughts come at a time of hurt and turmoil in my family. The presidential election has had a polarizing impact on my siblings. Not just the “things” that have been said, but the timing and tone have put said hurtful words in CAPITAL LETTERS.

I’m praying for the ability to forgive because the words will never be forgotten.

Sadly, I know what you mean because I have been through that myself. At 82 years of age, I have finally learned that is best not just to forgive but to forget. Our lives are short and there’s no benefit to looking back and wishing we had done things differently. So what I’m trying to say is it’s good that you were giving forgiveness but now try to forget.

If Trump wins it’ll be very hard to forget as his intolerance of gay marriage will put one of our siblings in jeopardy and I fear the consequences to her family and kids. If he loses the threat is gone. Perhaps then it will be easier to forget.

Thank you for your kindness and wisdom, that I will never forget.

imagine a world where people were quick to forgive and slow to judge -- sounds like heaven ;)
