It's amazing how emotional trauma manifests through our physical body as pain and illness. Mindfulness is very helpful.

I do too. I have a FitBit and the app have a lot of great guided meditations that I can play on my phone. Likewise my Daily Affirmations often fall in to a form of mediation for me. Walking also.

I experienced this when I witnessed the 9/11 attack, and again when I was unconscious for the better part of eight years. I have become extremely cautious with my body, whereas before I was fearless.

Thanks for posting this interesting article and offering your perspective. I have come to believe the body stores memories beyond just the traumatic as well. An actor friend says that he memorizes his lines for a play by reciting his lines while walking in the park ... he called it something like muscle memorization ... and he claims it makes it easier to do the memorization. Your observations about recommended treatment paths should gain traction within the profession.

I have been told that FBI and CIA training includes studying while sitting and bouncing on gym balls.
