Hi Allan—Thanks for sharing this post. It reminds me of “Last Child in the Woods” by Richard Louv

Shane, we never got to know each other. I’ve never read the last child in the woods, but I just purchased it and plan to read it. We still have time to get to know each other. I am impressed. I don’t know why I should be but that’s not true. I do know why I didn’t know you And I underestimated who you are. Please let’s get together and with Evan over some coffee or tea or whatever and chat. And I would like to get out of this place just to get some fresh air so I wouldn’t mind if you picked me up and the three of us went to Either Starbucks or any place where we can leisurely chat. Well, it’s up to you and I hope to hear from you. My Condo sadly goes on sale tomorrow, Friday, April 4 and I will miss it and I will miss my neighbors, but the problem caused my by my balance Which is caused by my peripheral neuropathy has plugged me and has caused me to fall so I guess my family thought this is the safest place for me to be and I guess it is nevertheless let’s get together and I hope to hear from you soon. Your friend and Evan‘s friend Allan.

Thanks, Allan. I will speak with Evan and see what his schedule looks like for this Monday or Tuesday and get back to you. I’ve recently discovered Paul’s Coffeeshop in Louisville and it’s my new favorite.

Thanks, Allan, for the poem, the poetic writing, and the GAIA sentiment. In my book, "Stress R Us", I describe and define "Population density stress" as being composed of these elements: massive human overpopulation/overconsumption, the destruction of the natural order (if anyone can remember what that once looked like and sounded like), a stressor filled "built" physical environment, the loss of the clan/band social order, the depletion/destruction of nonrenewable natural resources, separation from the deep spiritual contact with Nature our ancestors were immersed in, the unnatural jump from real physical territory to symbolic/conceptual territory, the "stress diseases", and the "killswitch". According to the climate experts at C3S and as reported in the 2-3-25 Hansen, etal, ENVIRONMENT paper: "Global Warming Has Accelerated", the Global Average Surface Temperature is increasing at 0.2 degC ANNUALLY, having jumped from that amount per DECADE, and that trendline may bring the planet's surface temp. to 5 degC over the 1991-2020 baseline by 2042, 17 yrs. hence. Read that part over, again, and again. Have a blessed day.
